Safety and Comfort

Your safety and comfort are extremely important.

You can stop a massage at any time and for any reason. “I don’t like this” is perfectly valid.

I’ll be happy to answer any questions or uncertainties you have before, during, and after a treatment.

Informed Consent

Your first massage includes an assessment – a conversation to find out what you are looking for during your treatment.

You will let me know the issues you are facing and the results you are expecting. I will give you my clinical impression of what I think will best help you. We then discuss and come to a consensus on what will take place during your treatment.

For example, if you are having lower back pain, I may recommend having your hips and gluteal region massaged with your low back. If you do not want this, just reject the suggestion, and it will not be a part of our agreed upon treatment.

I will never tell you that you must have a certain technique performed or a certain area massaged. I will inform you of your options – it’s up to you to agree or disagree.

We will come to a shared understanding so you will know ahead of time what will happen during your treatment. This is how you can make an informed decision if massage is right for you.

Clothing and Removal

You can keep on or remove as much clothing as you like.

Your mind should be on enjoying your massage, not whether you are wearing the appropriate amount of clothing.

I once massaged a client who kept their winter jacket on. They still enjoyed it.

Draping

Draping is the term massage therapists use for the sheets that cover your body during the treatment.

You will always be provided with a secure and comfortable draping. This means that only the parts of your body that are being massaged will not be covered by the sheets.

Space for Massage

Make sure your space and location are suitable for a mobile massage.
